The Sylph

In the nineteenth century, Marie Taglioni crashes the ballet scene, revolutionising the artform by dancing 'en pointe' while leaving the competition in her wake.

Prior to this, ballet was presented by male dancers performing in female costume—but Marie and her ambitious father instigated the greatest of all changes.

Her story is not only about dance. It revolves around a woman. What we know of her. What we might suppose. Her struggle with physical challenges as well as everything that happened behind the scenes. Now in old age, we find Marie reflecting on life.
