About Jodi

Jodi Rose is an Australian author, playwright, and former professional ballerina. She danced from a young age with the Stars of the Bolshoi Ballet, the Joffrey Ballet, Dame Margot Fonteyn, and appeared as a guest artist in The Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular.

Today, her storytelling continues through the written word. Her forthcoming work of creative nonfiction, Invisible Crown, explores the untold story of 19th-century ballerina Marie Taglioni—a trailblazer who redefined ballet by mastering pointe work and captivated Europe with her ethereal artistry. Beneath the fame, however, lies a portrait of a woman forged in solitude, discipline, and quiet defiance.

Jodi’s play The Sylph was performed in Sydney and Italy.  She serves as an Ambassador for Palliative Care at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney, teaches ballet in Woollahra, and is a member of the Society of Women Writers Victoria.
